The Challenge . . .

To make ensure that any investment made in floor slab reinforcement technology would provide the necessary durability and strength at a cost-effective price. Also to provide reinforcement throughout the concrete and guarantee the future durability of the floor.

The Solution . . .

STRUX® 90/40 supplied by Grace Construction Products, was chosen as the solution. STRUX 90/40 is a synthetic macro fiber 40mm (1.5 in) in length specifically designed to replace welded wire fabric, light reinforcing bars and steel fibers in flooring application. STRUX 90/40 synthetic macro fibers are mixed throughout the concrete, providing three-dimensional reinforcement, eliminating any concern over proper positioning of reinforcement. "Fibers provide strength to our paper products, so I knew the placements of STRUX fibers in the concrete would result in a tougher and tighter system," said Richard Parenteau, General Manager, Marlboro Papers, Inc.
