Pre-applied Waterproofing Membranes

Preprufe® Waterproofing System (Preprufe® 300R & 160R)
Preprufe® 300R & 160R membranes are unique composite sheets comprising a thick HDPE film, an aggressive pressure-sensitive adhesive and a weather resistant protective coating.

Unlike conventional non-adhering membranes, which are vulnerable to water ingress tracking between the unbonded membrane and structure, the unique Preprufe seal to concrete prevents any ingress or migration of water around the structure.

The Preprufe R System includes:

Preprufe 300R - heavy-duty grade for use below slabs and on rafts (i.e. mud slabs). Designed to accept the placing of heavy reinforcement using conventional concrete spacers.

Preprufe 160R - thinner grade for lighter applications and reverse tanking (i.e. blindside zero property line) applications against permanent formwork such as soil retention systems.

Preprufe Tape LT - for covering cut edges, roll ends, penetrations and detailing (temperatures between -4°C (25°F) and +30°C (86°F)).

Preprufe Tape HC - as above for use in Hot Climates (minimum 10°C (50°F)).

Bituthene® Liquid Membrane - for sealing around penetrations, etc.

Preprufe® Tieback Cover
The Preprufe® Tieback Cover is a specially designed, two-part cover used to maintain waterproofing integrity at soil retention tieback heads. The Preprufe Tieback Cover consists of a base and cover, and is assembled on site to provide a simple and quick waterproofing detailing aid used with the Preprufe system. A prefabricated, rigid ABS plastic base provides the strength and durability needed to withstand the pressure created by concrete placement, and the prefabricated Preprufe membrane cover ensures continuity of the Advanced Bond Technology™ for the Preprufe System.

Preprufe® SCS Waterproofing System For Shotcrete
Preprufe SCS is an innovative blindside system specifically designed to provide a high performance waterproofing solution for shotcrete foundation walls. Designers no longer have to modify conventional waterproofing systems designed for cast-in-place foundation wall construction to make them suitable for shotcrete wall applications.

The Preprufe SCS System consists of a durable composite sheet membrane applied against the soil retention system and a specially formulated hydrophilic expansive grout that is post-injected into the composite sheet through a series of injection ports. The membrane is designed to withstand the force of shotcrete application and control the thickness of the post-injected grout. Grout ports are installed prior to shotcrete application to enable grout injection, which occurs after shotcrete placement. This post-injected grout fills and seals the system, providing a continuous waterproofing barrier that is fully-bonded with the shotcrete.

The system is designed to permit tie-in of the Preprufe SCS Membrane with other Grace waterproofing products, including the Preprufe 300R Under Slab Waterproofing Membrane and Bituthene® or Procor® Waterproofing Membranes, to provide a continuous waterproofing system for the entire structure

Preprufe® Low Temperature Waterproofing Membranes (300LT and 160LT)
Preprufe® Low Temperature (LT) Membranes (300LT and 160LT) are unique composite sheets comprising a thick HDPE film, an aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive formulated for application temperatures down to 25°F (-4°C), and a weather resistant protective coating.

Unlike conventional non-adhering membranes, which are vulnerable to water ingress tracking between the unbonded membrane and structure, the unique Preprufe bond to concrete prevents ingress or migration of water around the structure. The Preprufe LT System is designed for application temperatures between 25°F (-4°C) and 60°F (+16°C).

Preprufe® 200
Preprufe® 200 Membrane is a composite sheet comprising a thick HDPE film, an aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive and a weather resistant protective coating. Using patented Advanced Bond Technology™, Preprufe 200 Membrane provides a continuous seal that resists water ingress and migration between the membrane and the structure.

The Preprufe 200 System includes:

Preprufe 200 Membrane - Robust membrane for horizontal use below concrete slabs or vertically against soil retention systems.

Preprufe CJ Tape LT - Self-adhesive 200 mm (8 in.) wide strip applied to the surface of the membrane along the line of all concrete joints (application temperature range -4°C to +30°C (25°F to 86°F)).

Preprufe CJ Tape HC - As above for use in hot climates (minimum 10°C (50°F)).

Bituthene® Liquid Membrane - For sealing around penetrations, etc.

Preprufe 200 Membrane is applied either horizontally to smooth prepared concrete, well-rolled and compacted sand, or compacted crushed stone blinding; or vertically to permanent formwork or adjoining structures. Concrete is then cast directly against the adhesive side of the membranes. The specially developed Preprufe adhesive layers work together to form a continuous and integral seal to the poured concrete.
